Trip overview

Kathmandu - Lukla - Namche - Tengboche - Base Camp (Pangboche) - Summit of Ama Dablam

Why go there?

It is a unique project combining several programs:

1. trek to Everest Base Camp from south (1700 EUR)
2. ascent of Island Peak (1980 EUR)
3. ascent of Ama Dablam (4500 EUR)

Amadablam is considered to be one of the Himalayan gems and by right: its stark challenging beauty has always lured both ordinary trekkers and experienced climbers.
We suggest you join our expedition which offers the full range of mountain travel: from easy trekking through the legendary places of Nepal to testing yourself on austere rocks and ice-falls, with the knowledgeable help of a guide from 7 Summits Club.
The approaches to Ama Dablam are among the easiest and shortest in Nepal, this interesting trek does not take much time.

We tried to make the program as attractive as possible, so instead of shuttling up and down the same slope for acclimatizing we have put in this program a trek to Everest Base Camp, then an easier climb of a “trekking peak”, Island Peak (6189m), and only then the trip’s climax comes: the ascent of one of the most beautiful Himalayan peak, Ama Dablam.
The Ama Dablam Base Camp is a very unusual one. It is a hotel with toilet, shower and good meals in the town of Pangboche, a comfy place for restoring your system after the acclimatizing outings and the climb itself.

Our ascent follows the classic route by the south-west spur and at the summit we are afforded the fantastic view of four eight-thousanders: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu.
Competent Sherpas will help in setting camps and overcoming the climbing difficulties. This peak is climbed without oxygen, yet we will have a supply for medical purposes.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. We go to the old town for a bit of sightseeing: Durbar Square, the new king’s palace, some temples. The leader arranges necessary group travel papers. Hotel.
Day 2 A full-size city-tour with a guide. The places of interest: Pashupatinath temple on the bank of the sacred river Bagmati, for Shiva worshipers. The bank is the place for cremation rituals (and for ablutions too); Buddanath, one of the biggest and oldest buddhistic stupas; Swayambhunath – a cluster of buddhistic and hinduistic temples, monasteries and edifices on a hill called “Monkeys’ Mountain”. From its top we can see the whole green valley of Kathmadu surrounded by majestic peaks. Hotel.
