Mount Kazbek (from the Georgian - Ice Peak) - is the most eastern five thousand meters peak of the Caucasus. And one of the most beautiful mountain in Caucasus. As well as Mount Elbrus - Kazbek is a volcano. Climbing on Mount Kazbek is not technically difficult. Kazbek is located in the eastern part of the central Caucasus, on the border between Russia and Georgia.
The first ascent of Kazbek was committed in the 19 century - in 1868 by D. Freshfield.
Mount Kazbek array consists of two peaks: Kazbek East (5033 meters) and Kazbek West (5015 meters). With the Kazbek massif in all directions down the powerful and heavily broken icefall.
